Welcome to Mumsnet Smile

If you go to the 'find new messages' link and then select the topics you are interested in (or all of them) you can specify the last hour, day and so on.

That way you can get a good overview of what is going on.

Most people, once they settle in, use 'All Topics' as this is the list of those threads with the most recent posts.

one way to get started is to click on "all topics" up at the top of this page. this will show you the 60 most recent conversations. then click on whichever conversation you like the look of.

Gloworm · 01/05/2006 19:13

or just click away at everything, so you get to see all the different bits and pieces.

as you start posting you can use 'threads I'm on' to see where you have already posted

thats the bit i didnt know last hour... last day it moves so quickly i would be looking at something and then it would disapear but last hour/days is what i can use to keep up. thanks

Gosh aren't you sensible to just ask....took me bloody weeks if not months to work out that the way to find people was to click on 'all topics' Blush

Someone made me laugh when they said there should just be a big notice on the home page saying "Go Straight to Active Convos" :)

I like the 'find messages' option. You can select 'messages since I last searched'. If you haven't been on for awhile it can be a long list, but at least you don't miss anything.

Then I just keep refreshing the page.
