I am thinking of proposing to p on 29th february, leap day and all that,we have been together for 10 years but separated for about 18 months.we separated when i was 5 moths pg with dd who's now 14mths,i just couldnt take any more of him(dd was very unplanned,ds had just been diagnosed autistic 2/3 months before dd concieved so we were under incredable stress and he was dealing with it very badly so we split,he pursued me till about 7 months ago then dropped it as he realised he was getting no where.Anyway i asked him back about 7 weeks ago when i woke one day and realised i loved him and wanted him home,i had PND and came off ad's about 2 months before i came to the realisation of still wanting him.
aNY WAY I ASKED HIM BACK BUT HE IS TERRIFIED TO GO THROUGHT THE SAME THING AGAIN,so we are still living separately but he is afraid to come back then be asked to leave again with nothing, which i can fully appreciate so I am thinking of proposing to him on feb 29 to prove how much i really want him back and that i will never put him through all this sh*t again,my question is after all that do any of you wordly wise people out there have any ideas on making it a memorable occasion? it will be a total surpise btw.
TIA

How about doing a sort of photo treasure hunt - give him clues to find 4 pictures of you and/or your kids. In first pic you could be holding a card that says "YOU", in 2nd one that says "ME", in third, one that says "WILL" and in the final one "MARRY" and then he has to rearrange the pics to find a well known phrase or saying . That way you could involve the kids, if you wanted to. Good luck!

Wilbur I did that for Valentines once for DH, I think he may still have been my DP then though. I sent 7 different postcards(you know the ones with cartoon giraffes, bears etc from WH smiths) with one word on each card (happy valentines day I love you) to my utter surprise he has kept them.

I think is a lovely idea, obviously, so maybe give that a try loobie

I proposed to my dh two leap years ago. We couldn't be together on the actual day so I went all victorian and wrote a letter, I stopped short of paying his father a dowry though!

My brother asked me the same thing a few years ago and I came up with a bizarre idea. My opinion is that these things should be memorable and romantic!!

Anyway we lived in the North of England and I suggested that he take his partner to the Pleasure Beach at Blackpool and go on 'The Big One' which is a very scary ride and when he gets her to the top he should declare undying love and propose!!!!!!!!

He did it and they married 12 months later!!

Go for it!!!!1
