She's a designer (textiles, wallpaper etc) and does lovely stuff, a wee bit 50s ish some of it, british, often in the house mags, just cannot think of her name.

Shop in London Notting hill....on the tip of my tongue

Kath Kidston.

No Marina - not flowers, more groovy patterns. Lots of colour.

She has an unusual name....it's drining me mad (want to look at her wallpaper).

Not Kath!
I've gone blank too. I keep seeing Marimekko fabrics now and I know that's not what you mean.

Fimbo · 27/04/2006 14:41

Jocasta Innes

puddle · 27/04/2006 14:44

Do love marimekko though Marina. keep thinking, you're on the right lines.

Went into the Kath shop in covent garden the other day. £20 for one blue coat hook.

Orla Kiely's lovely and very 50s but I thought she mostly did hats, bags etc...

Marina · 27/04/2006 14:49

Result!

puddle · 27/04/2006 14:50

We lost an early 60s townhouse due to arsey sellers six years ago and can you tell I am still sulking about it? Love those textiles etc and they would look criminal in our 20s widdle-stained semi

puddle · 27/04/2006 14:52

ooooh Marina - I want a 60s house next (if we don't build our won - I can dream...). Did it have big windows? Fab light? Sick to death of poky dark edwardiana

METAL block - LOL

Marina · 27/04/2006 14:56

Yep. Three stories of warm-air-heating, full-house-width picture windows, parquet flooring BLISS.
Bastards. Still think dark thoughts when I pass their accursed cul de sac.
Actually, what I really want is a Frank Lloyd Wright, Ice Storm type pad.

puddle · 27/04/2006 14:59

Marina am feeling your pain.

i once cursed a woman who refused to haggle with me over an ancient sewing machine at a carboot sale at haydock racecourse. I bet she's still there with it...Grin
