"If you're worried go and se your health visitor. She knows you and your baby best".

I shouldn't think my health visitor knows much about my baby really (not saying she doesn't know about babies, but why should she be an expert on mine?)

I quite agree with you sometimes they have some good ideasa or tips which you might not of thought of but its up to you if you think their good for you and your little one. Its the ones that don't even have children that get on my goat when their dishing out their socalled pearls of wisdom! Angry

By the way, this isn't a rant at health visitors and their advice, but just my wondering why other people suggest that a health visitor would know your child best.

maybe they're missing the proviso that she's the health professional that knows you and your baby best. Obv you know your baby better than she does!
(Although this doesn't mean they always get it right. And I guess some people's GPs would know more.)

But I shouldn't think that my health visitor could tell anyone much about DD.

They could presumably look up somewhere and see she has had her immunisations so far. They could see that I have brought her along to be weighed several times.

But they have no idea about how she is fed, how she sleeps, what her development is like.

And I have no problem with that, but still remain perplexed at why it should be felt that they would know more. Maybe it's the health visitor instinct Smile.
