Floppy Disks

What on earth do I do with them? I must have hundreds of the damn things lurking around the house and no use for them whatsoever.

chuck them?

transfer any important info to cd-rom?

is this an eco-thread? are you trying to find eco friendly disposal methods?

There are so many of them I feel bad about throwing them away.

(as a complete aside, I used your pancake recipe in my waffle toaster at the weekend - went down very well with DSs :o)

Was going to suggest you reformatted them (to remove any data) and then see if you can donate to charity? Lots of overseas places take old PCs and stuff?

I am reformatting them at the moment as it happens.

I'd forgotten how slow and noisy they are!!

She's miserable (orgeous but miserable for some reason). Sigh. Actually, at the moment she is having a rare sleep during the day whilst not hanging round my neck in a sling hence my Mumsnetting and sorting out of floppy disks.

Sure she'll improve - just making usre you don't forget she's there ;)

Maybe I could bundle her up with the floppy disks...

Oh, err, yeah I think my grandad maybe left them to me in his will.
