Misschief - noticed at the weekend that the big 4-bedroomed older style house that's around corner from me is back on the market again...offers at 485K... Agent is Meldrum, Salter, Edgely...or something like like!

So - what's the latest on your move? Is Godalming still in the frame????

Hi HBA - gosh, you'll make me feel all important, don't think I've been named in a thread title before Grin
I'll check that out - remember house from last time, looked great. We have finally seen a decent house in Busbridge - think it's going to be fought over though, there's already an offer on it and we have to decide whether to match it or not. We are wondering whether to go further west our along 4 in order to get more for the money/be nr Cotswold area but Godalming still our most likely option, dh loves it! Any further tips to sway me either way would be helpful!

..incoherent, addled brain..
out along M4 even..

Blimey - surprised to have found you so quickly!!

Anyway - house is lovely but looks like it needs work and is on the main road - although massive driveway behind a wall etc. so there's plenty of space off-road for cars. I love it because it's double fronted.... Be interested to know why it's back on the market again though - think this is the second time I've seen it be sold and then be 'for sale' again...makes you wonder abit...but then it could just be the amount of work that needs doing to it that is putting some people off. That's waht happened to our place anyway - 2 buyers before us pulled out because they bottled it!!

Anyway tips for swaying you to Godalming - well it just makes sense really...'cos it's such a lovely place and I live there too!!

babe asleep, post-clearing up after w/e chaos and pre-school run so caught me at a good time!

How do you find that immediate area? Is it fairly quiet or do you get much road noise? Know it's good for Rodborough, how about primary? We'd only really looked at Busbridge not yet further afield..

WEll considering we're only around the corner, I don;t fin it bad at all. I also have other friends who live on the main road about 200 yards away who don't mention noise as an issue at all.

Generally, surrounding area is excellent - park close by, Secrets farm shop only 5 minutes walk, National Trust land with footpaths etc. stones throw away, Secret garden centre (fantastic source of amusement for toddlers) only 10 minutes walk awa via a small back road encompassing 2 duck ponds, massive 'pick your own' facility and lots of green space for football, picnics and running around....

Village has 8 til late shop, fishmonger/butcher, dry cleaners, off license, hairdresser, video shop, 3 pubs, chinese takeaway (although it's rubbish), fish & chip shop, florist.

You would be walking distance (20 minutes) from Rodborough school. There's an infants school (ages 4-7) in Milford itself which feeds into Witley juniors - probably about 1.5 miles away.

Anything else - then let me know!
