rummums playdough recipe (sure she won't mind me reposting it)

you will need

  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 tablespoon cream of tartar
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup of water
  • food colouring
  • glitter (optional)
  • small pot of essence added to water to make up 1 cup (optional)

combine ingredients in a saucepan. Heat gently, stirring all the time. When the dough has a good consistency, take it off the heat and allow to cool.
I often add green colouring and mint essence

enjoy... but beware of it in the carpets because of the colourings....

we also make something called mercury - cornflour and water and food colouring - mix it to a runny consistency but not too runny - have no exact measurements - but basically until it is the consistency of mercury - kids can pull it from the table - sort of sets and let it run through their fingers... will see if I can find a recipe - great fun.
