Pls recommend me some free anti-virus software

Can't get my Grisoft AVG update to work, grateful for any alternative suggestions. Don't like to put others at risk but for some reason can't bring myself to pay for it!

why can't you get grisoft to work ? It seems fine on my machines. Have you tried reinstalling it ?

go & look on Download.com & type in anti virus & there are some free ones on there. Not sure why your AVG is not working i have AVG & mine seems ok.
