I was looking under education to find a topic about adults studying. I know I am not the only parent in the world to be studying so I was Shock not to find one.

Never mind! If anyone else comes along, we can support each other - if not, at least I tried Smile

Back Story:

I am a solo-parent with a 12 year old ds who HATES me studying and wants me to sit and watch telly or play pool for HOURS - or play anything for HOURS rather than study no matter how often we talk about me finishing my degree and applying for teacher's training. When he doesn't want me to play with him (usually happens about 10 minutes into a study session) he seems very proud of me.

I studied most of my degree between 1996 and 2002 with a break to give birth and get to know my ds. I then studied part-time until I achieved an ordinary degree. After that, I headed out and found a temporary job in sales - SEVEN years later, I applied to the OU and went to work as a HLTA in a large secondary school.

I'm two modules down and about to start on the project course which is looming big and scary so I thought: could do with some chatter with other parents going through the same process and here we are; hopefully - otherwise, I jut spent 8 minutes typing to myself!
