Looking for somebody who might offer acting workshops - idea is for our team to spend an afternoon on a team-building exercise, and somebody suggested acting! I know from the Stagecoach thread there are actors out there, does anybody know of a similar organisation for adults?

I went to an acting evening class last year and I know the woman who took the class ran one-day drama workshops as well. She's based in edinburgh (don't know where you are) but I can give you her name and contact no (if I can find it) if this is any use.

Work is in London, near Westminster, so Edinburgh a bit far. We could probably find a venue nearby (Civil Service gym). Sobernow, if you have some names it would be great.

My Dh could do it. We are based in Colchester, but he can get into London. It depends when, and if it is midweek or weekend. He does a lot of work with adults, gp's are a big thing, as are other groups. please email me on lucy at essentialpublishing dot co dot uk and we can chat 'off-site'!

Florenceuk, I can unreservedly recommend Barking Productions as they are the best in their field IMO. They are also extremely funny - their other specialism is impro comedy. They are based in Bristol but have a national client base.

MY organisation could do this for you, F.UK! (I'm a Theatre Director)We could do you a 'make-a-play'in an afternoon, complete with props and special effects. But your team would be devising original input.
Send me an e mail, backstage, as it were, and we can discuss it!

florenceuk · 15/01/2004 12:39

Marina, that link looks just what we are looking for. Crunchie, I will email you to get details as well, as it's good to have a choice.

I know Barking Productions, I met them at a party once!!! Funny enough we were talking about this the other day and DH keeps meaning to contact them - they are friends of people he has worked with before.

Crunchie, small world! I was at youth theatre with one of the founders. Have you seen one of their Instant Wit shows?

Crunchie · 16/01/2004 12:08

I haven't seen any of their stuff, I just met them at a party The friend having the party went to drama college with them.

Just to add that we did go with Crunchie's husband in the end and it was great! Highly recommended, we all really enjoyed it.
