I am currently in NZ and would like to send a friend a bottle of bubbly for passing some exams recently. Does anybody know any internet sites in the UK I can do this through. She lives near Cardiff if that matters.
Many thanks

Festivefly · 15/01/2004 09:28

Next, sainsbury's, tescos...............

M2T · 15/01/2004 09:33

Sibble - I ordered Breeze a case of wine from Tesco.com. Took only a week to deliver it. It arrived on time and in tact.

Check it out... I don't know if you can order individual bottles though.

gingernut · 15/01/2004 09:44

Or try Waitrose or Marks and Spencer

motherinferior · 15/01/2004 10:09

If you wish to do a test run I am happy to receive. A tough job but someone's got to do it

I've used Pressie.com to send Bollinger and it got there fine.

I know its not quite champagne, but Interflora NZ do some gifts to the UK - Wine and chocolates, a Montana gift set (which means nothing to me but picture has bottle in it!) and - very sweet - homesick kiwi hampers! I don't what the exchange rate is but they all seemed to be over NZ$100.

Many thanks everybody. Motherinferior thanks for the offer!!!! I'll let you know if I need your services. Am off now to give it a try.
Passing the work related exams came at the end of a really bad 18 months (2 house moves, 3 redundancies, sick mother, death of friend etc.) so I am really happy for her and just wanted to let her know. It's hard when you are so far away when people need a cuddle and chat.

DH had a bottle of whisky from the bank from madaboutwine They made a major cock up with his account.

Ghosty · 16/01/2004 00:41

Sibble ... Allpresent.com do booze ....

sibble · 16/01/2004 03:38

Well, having spent several hours today searching all the sites John Lewis came up trumps. I would have more luck launching a missile from the war office computer remotely than signing up with 2 of the sites. Tescos and some others were great but cases only.
I am now off to order my parents their birthday pressies on-line having now got the hang of it (I think)!
thanks everybody
