Question on Posting Parcels to America/Canada

Hiya

I have two shoeboxed sized parcels to send to America and Canada. They each weigh about the same weight as a small to average newborn . What would be the cheapest way to send them??

Speed isn't really a factor. I just need cheap!!

TIA

DH (the Ebay expert!) says surface mail (takes 4-6wks) would be cheapest but you should look at insuring the parcels for that length of time. If they go by AirMail, write "small packet" on the parcels as it makes it cheaper. He's not sure about the costs involved, he suggests looking at the Royal Mail website.

Thanks for replying Petunia. The only thing with that slow way is the box i'm sending is full of sweets etc and has shortbread that i'm not sure will still be in date in 6weeks time lol. Will check it out tho :) I guess it all goes by weight.

Don't forget to write your full name and address, being the senders, on your parcels... Nowadays for a reason it is very important!!!!

you can pick up a customs form from a post office to complete in advance so it's ready when you get to the counter w/the parcel. a customs form is required for items being shipped to the US, as is a full return address.
