Would anyone know how to clean out a steam cleaner filled with milk that has curdled?

Thanks.

No idea how to clean them I'm afraid, but it really does beg the question... how on EARTH did you manage to fill it with curdled milk?!

(am guessing there's a funny story here just waiting to come out)

Sadly there's no funny story. My son filled it with milk again and I didn't find it until today. The milk is easy enough to clean out, but this is pretty stinky and gross.

I put together IKEA things instead of cleaning it out. Tells you something right there....

Urgh... trying to think. When you clean out kettles/steamers etc isn't there that soda stuff you disolve in water, put it in then let it heat up? Effectively a steam cleaner is one big kettle isn't it? Mind you - that's for limescale, not really milk

You'd want something that was fairly mild so you could just flush it out over a second use... I'll think some more.

Good call on the putting things together instead

Is it ironic that the reason I haven't used my steam cleaner in a few days is that that's how long it's been since my son has played with that neat brown fragrant playdo he finds in his nappies?

I'm scared of using the word "ironic" sometimes.

Anyway, cleaned it out with a mild soap as suggested while singing a tune incorporating all the swear words I know and a little -doodle oodle oo to keep it catchy. The steam cleaner is heating up now and I will see how it goes. No solids seem to be left and it's not stinky anymore so I have high hopes.

Oh good, I am glad We've recently purchased a steam cleaner so am taking notes

And just a tip for anyone cleaning one: never try to smell steam.

I'm going to lie down with a book for a while.
