Just a quick question:

Where are the hemlines of school summer dresses i.e the gingham sort meant to be when worn? Knee length? Longer?

Bought some for DD and they seem huge.

dd's are just below the knee

I don't judge by skirt length but by how much loose material there is to grab around the middle.

But I think they are quite long generally. Certainly M&S ones are.

I buy them for dd in a couple of sizes too big (just above the ankle) then they fit again the next year at just under the knee. Therefore I have only had to buy dresses twice in four years, rather than buying them every year. HTH

Thanks. Shes a skinny minnie and they seem massive on her. Are your girls wearing theirs yet or still too cold?

ours go back in summer dresses on Thursday, whatever the weather ! dd's vary from about an inch below her knee to ballerina length(also v tiny!)

No no! Mine is not wearing her summer dress until summer itself arrives! She is still in vests, although I did allow her and her brothers to abandon their winter coats today and go to school in their raincoats.
