Address bar not working in Internet Explorer. please help!!!!

It doesn't matter what web address I type on there and press Enter, nothing happens. I have to type what I need in google search. Google is my homepage and that comes up OK. the Home button works, but I can only access web pages by going through Google search then click on the relevant link. I looked in Internet Options, Advanced, Search from the Address Bar and the option ticked on there is correct (Display Results and go to most likely site). Still, address bar completely not working.
Pleeeease help me!!!

I gave up using Internet Explorer a couple of years ago - download Firefox instead - it's much better!

(Sorry I don't know why your address bar isn't working either - have you restarted your machine? Did it still not work after a restart?)

yes spacedonkey. i did everything i could possibly think of, including re-starting. there must be some sort of setting somewhere??? it just stopped working about a week ago.

Mine Too!!! It was fine last night, now this morning it is jamming everytime I click on the blue down arrow. It is fine If I click on the address bar and type in there. I have also re-started the machine.

Does the fact that we both have the same problem mean there is something more sinister at work????
