Does anyone live in or know anything about Burchington in Kent ????? Any info good or bad would be gratefully recieved.

Its Birchington I think, sorry I dont know anything about. There are people in kent though. Maybe start a thread anyone know Birchington in Kent?

Yes - its a nice little seaside town with a blue flag beach - have taken my two kids there for a day out at the seaside a couple of times.

Don't really know that much about it - only really been to the beach. The town looked fine - typical of seaside resort. Beach area nice and clean and tidy. Also a nice size as town not too big and beach very uncommercialised.

I do think your children would love the beach. How old are they?

I guess a lot would depend on the council estates for you - can any one recommend a website you could look at? Like upmystreet or something - I'm not very good at that kind of thing!

nutcracker do you like living in Sutton with all the shops and busy lifestyle? If you do I would think moving to a seaside town would be a bit of a culture shock, maybe. If you are fed up with with all the hussle and bussle you would most probably enjoy living in a smaller town.

Oh I've just remembered I found the beach by looking on the bbc website and putting in blue flag beach kent (I think). Its minnis bay the beach is called. I found a lovely picture of the beach that way.

Have you tried googling for birchington kent?

Might be lucky and find a local tourist info site or something.

Nutcracker, I can confirm it exists! As far as I know it is spelt Birchington and it's near Whitstable. I think it's on a railway line but that's all I know...

FIO2 - I love living in Sutton but i really cannot stand living in this flat anymore, it's driving me mad. Thanks for the link i'm going to try that now.

JMG- My kids are 6,4 and 13mths so i'm sure that they would love the beach. Personally i am terrified of moving that far away from family but i'm so desperate.
