oh dear, none of mine have actually ever had a black eye, but when on ds second birthday he got a little goal post and football i was showing him how to kick it into the net, next minute wham blood everywhere, somehow i had kicked the ball too hard and ds was standing behind the goal post and it connected with the top corner of his eyebrow, all the family that were there were rushing around to take him to hospital, he had to have his eyebrow glued then paper stitches on top,(what a lovely present for him) for months afterwards he would say mummy did it mummy did it, he's 7 now and has a lovely scar as if his eyebrow has been shaved boyband style!

the bruise on her forehead has only just gone. Blush

ohmy, i hope she isnt like dd2, dd2 is always bruised due to her clumsiness.

Ds woke up with the most awful shiner one morning when he was only about 7mths oldShock

We don't know to this day how he did it. I happened to have a doctors appointment for him that day because he'd had a nasty cough. The doctor of course was more interested in the eye and me saying he'd just 'woken up with it' sounded very lame. I was a bit worried how it sounded but was true.

ds2 (3) has a black eye atm - he ran into a table in a cafe on Friday - it looks horrendous!

DD (13 months) fell out of our bed two nights ago. She has a bruise and a graze on her head. Accidents happen...In fact she's had quite a few this long weekend, although we've been three adults (including grandfather) and her older brother around all day, so you'd have thought we'd have watched her better.

I once trapped DS' finger in the car door Shock I felt like the worst mum on the planet especially has his whole nail came off too Sad he had it x-rayed and thankfully it wasn't broken.

Also when DD was 3 weeks old her pram blew upside down whilst she was in it when there was really strong winds, she came out into the hood and was more upset about being woken up than the accident itself. I could not stop shaking for hours and felt terrible because she hadn't been strapped in.

So I definitely win worst mum award!!!

crazydazy that happened to a freind of mine ds, she had turned her back to lock her front door, and her ds although strapped in, was blown down a set of steps, when she got to the stroller and lifted it up there was blood pouring from his head, poor wee mite ended up in hospital for observation and had two scans, all was well and apart from a scar on his forehead, he is a boisterous 4yr old now.

Oh, I trapped DS's finger in the car door too. Today, while under my care, DD got hit by an automatic door at Sainsbury's. It was an "Exit only" one but studipdly it also opened from the outside, which I didn't know. DD (13 months) went towards it and she got a mighty blow to her head. that's added to her falling out of the cot 2 weeks ago and out of our bed two nights ago. Strangely, I don't think of myself as a bad mummy because of all these, just unlucky.
