Have a bet with my FIL that I can but bloody hell I can't

It is called something like the Little Dutch Dog and it apparantly had the line "schnipp schnapp und bite'em"

Would be eternally grateful!

Key words keep bringing up The Snow Queen by Hans Andersen, but there is nothing useful in the text.

Is it definitely a poem? All I can think of without searching is that kids' song "Ich bin Schnappi das kleine crocodil" or whatever it is -which I'm sure is totally wrong!

Apart from the recurring Hans Christan Andersen tag given variously as Schnipp-schnapp-schnurre, snik-snak-snurre..., snip-snap-snorre, etc ; the only thing I can think of is the card game 'snip snap snorum' and some Scandinavian books about three boys called Snipp, Snapp and Snurr

I tried german, dutch and english as well as WWI & WWII poetry - for some reason it reminded me of that era.

It was a poem in a book of poems but he can't remember the name of the book

maybe if I put in in a thread title someone would know it
