Am I correct in thinking that Aloha no longer posts?

Since the muslim cartoon furore?

Don;t think she's posted since then.

sunchowder · 10/04/2006 20:35

I was just thinking about her too...

JoolsToo · 10/04/2006 20:36

sorely missed

LIZS · 10/04/2006 20:36
Sad

OddOneOut · 10/04/2006 20:37

what a shameSad

Northerner · 10/04/2006 20:40

I'm not one to normally post about missing people but she offerred so much to this site and I learnt such alot from her intelligent articulate posts.

Tis mumsnet's loss.

I learned a lot from her also...it was a shame as I did not follow the thread--but understood that the argument was with someone who didn't add a lot of value to the site....

Rhubarb · 10/04/2006 20:46

She is one of the kindest people I know. She sent me some maternity clothes when I was pregnant with ds, for free, and a little card too because she knew I was finding it tough!

She also read my thread on trying to locate trousers for dd, and before I knew it she had bought her some pairs, rooted out some of her ds's old clothes for my ds and is sending them to me.

But it's her decision. I'm gutted that she left, but we have to respect her decision to do so.

Ledodgy · 10/04/2006 20:49

I miss her too I got all excited the other day when I saw her name on a thread only to realise it was a thread someone revived from a while back. I didn't know her personally to msn or anything but I miss her posts I found her extremly informed, interesting and thoughtful. I wish she'd come back but do respect her reasons for not doing so.

Uwila · 10/04/2006 21:01

I too hope she returns (if she wants to). Sad

poorme · 10/04/2006 21:22

mabe she is aka

MeggLeVache · 10/04/2006 21:23

Perhaps she lurks too?

chipmonkey · 10/04/2006 21:39

Would love her to come back.Sad

suedonim · 10/04/2006 23:35

Has Aloha really gone?? Sad Why? (I've been in No-Internet-Land) I'm so sad, I really liked her posts. Sad

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/04/2006 23:44

Has she flounced, or has she been banned? Perhaps MNHQ can enlighten us?

JoolsToo · 10/04/2006 23:48

there was a controversial muslim cartoon thread that got heated - insults were hurled aloha got called a 'racist' Shock - her, rather more traditional insults got deleted whilst the one calling her racist remained, which made it look like she was (but she's not) - quite unjust imho!

sorry, not explained that very well!

essbee · 10/04/2006 23:49

Having been offline myself I missed her going, I do hope she comes back.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/04/2006 23:51

Does anyone know if she flounced in the end or was banned?

handlemecarefully · 10/04/2006 23:52

Yes it would be nice to see her around again.....

JoolsToo · 10/04/2006 23:53

not banned I don't think - wouldn't say 'flouned' either - that suggest petulance to me. I think she was just very, very angry.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/04/2006 23:56

It certainly would. She was very eloquent, and always posted sensible, well thought out posts.

Its a shame that one or two outbursts of anger (in fair response to a, dare i use the word 'defamatory', comment) has lost us a well respected, and thoroughly missed poster.

suedonim · 11/04/2006 00:17

Oh dear.Sad Thanks for the explanation, JT.

threebob · 11/04/2006 04:08

She must find she has so much more time now. Maybe she's changed her name and is a lot more cautious not to say anything that could make us think she is still here.
