Oh poor you and your DD. I gather she is fine now. Don't feel guilty though as it wasn't your fault at all.

M2T · 09/01/2004 10:26

I have nightmares about doing that to ds! He sleeps most nights in beside me and I do dream quite alot.
Don't worry yourself about it.... she probably doesn't even remember it now.

fio2 · 09/01/2004 11:15

harman this has happened to me too, you could have just been dreaming though and your dd's cry made you think in your dream that you had hit her. The funny thing that happens in our house is that dh talks in his sleep and he howls too! One night he was howling and the dog joined in

I believe you.
My daughter sleeps with us too, they really seem to think co-sleeping is good for youngsters, and as with everything, with the good comes the bad! (Veg for example!) I'm sorry this has happened, but we've all (or at least, I know I have!) had little accidents at some point or an other. Usually when we're trying to do the 'right' thing, strangely enough! Try not to be too hard on youself (says she, who bumped her daughters head on the roof of the car, when she was really young, and I didn't stop crying about it for over two weeks!) your lovely daughter is fine, and she's certainly got a very loving and caring mum!

Oh Harman, don't worry please, DD will be alright. You don't have to explain it to anyone if you don't want, you know what happened and that it was accident and if DD understands that, well thats all the matters. And if its any consolation she will return the deed 10 fold in the future. DD1 put a hair line fracture in my nose once smacking me right in the face when I was asleep.

This must be the 'dangers' of co-sleeping they talk about

Caroline5 · 10/01/2004 21:10

Absolutely pie, dd2 kicked me in the eye when asleep (she wriggles round so she's lying across the bed) and I've got a big yellow bruise now! Please don't worry about it harman, these things just happen, your dd probably forgot all about it 5 minutes later!

handlemecarefully · 12/01/2004 08:27

Harman,

Your dd would have been asleep at the time so she would not have realised that mummy hit her...she probably just woke up thinking 'what's this sudden pain in my cheek?'. Don't torture yourself over this accident
