Have managed to get childcare for today for me to get on with my 4000 word assignment (so why am I on mumsnet? Wink )
How can I plan my day well and get lots done instead of fannying around?

Log off for a start. Grin
Make a list and tackle worst bits first.

Plan essay (rough skeleton) and then fill in.
Have something nice for dinner and a bottle of wine to celebrate.
Good luck, this will be me in Sept. when i start my MSc. Yikes!!!

juliab · 10/04/2006 10:08

Wish I knew Mosschops - I've got the same problem!
I'll happily write you a nagging post every hour or so, if you do the same for me!

Mosschops30 · 10/04/2006 10:12

Mosschops30 · 10/04/2006 10:17

June 2008 ....seems soooo long away!
This is my 2nd assignment, have just passed the 1st.

juliab · 10/04/2006 10:18

Right Mosschops, you're on. I shall expect an impressive wordcount when I nag you at 11.15.
You scared into action yet? Wink

Mosschops30 · 10/04/2006 10:18

ok catch you back here then, I have doone about 1000 already, so expect a marked improvement on that.
How about you?

OP posts:
juliab · 10/04/2006 10:24

Done about 2500 of a chapter (just over half way). Got to finish the chapter today and have started another. Or I'm toast.
This is good! Actually feel like doing something now...

mazzystar · 10/04/2006 10:29

Go to the local library and work from there. No tv, no ironing pile, no internet access for mumsnet time fritterage, no stutipd man on the phone trying to get you to sign up to catalogues.

GDG · 10/04/2006 10:32

FGS, disconnect the internet!

I absolutely have to have it disconnected or I spend half my time flicking between work and here.

If you see me on here between 7 and midnight tonight - tell me off! Got a looming deadline!

fennel · 10/04/2006 10:33

DON'T try working in the dining room with two incompetent grandparents supposedly looking after 3 small children all around you.

grrrr... am not getting much work done today.

lionhearted · 10/04/2006 10:44

Ear muffs (no one will see this), and a bolt on the door (then wait for the little messages to be posted under the door Smile).

swedishmum · 10/04/2006 11:00

I've got 4500 to do - my 2 year old has re-sorted my stuff and drawn ballerinas all over my notes, dd1 who could help needs to revise for Y7 exams and is busy with wood and a glue gun for scouts... Cbeebies is on I'm afraid. It's the guilt that gets me - over not doing enough work, not playing with the children, not tidying up, moaning at everyone. Right, I'm off to do it NOW.

juliab · 10/04/2006 11:21

How's it going Mosschops?

juliab · 10/04/2006 11:31

?

Mosschops30 · 10/04/2006 11:41

wow what a success, all 2082 words of my reflective account finished, just flew through it this morning Smile
Now have to tackle the other 2000 of theory part.

So do I break now for lunch, or just crack on?

How are you getting on juliab? made any progress

OP posts:
juliab · 10/04/2006 11:46

well done!
you put me to shame. have only managed one little section Blush but it was the trickiest bit, so I'm hoping the rest will come much more quickly.
how hungry are you? I usually find it helps to get the first couple of paras of the next bit done before I break for a bit. Then when I come back, I can't faff around 'thinking' about how to start.
catch you at 12.15...

moondog · 10/04/2006 11:50

Well done.
Break for luch.Pace yourself.

Mosschops30 · 10/04/2006 11:55

Keep going juliab, well done for making it through the hardest part.
Think you are right will do first paragraph of theory and then break for lunch
catcha later

OP posts:
juliab · 10/04/2006 13:29

Thanks Mosschops!
And yesssssss! Done another 1000 words.
Going for a run and then lunch now. Back later to stun you with my astonishing word output this afternoon - I hope!
How's the theory going?

Mosschops30 · 10/04/2006 13:30

god bloody awful, have only accomplished about 30 words but have been on the phone to my mum. Will knuckles down now and report back about 2.30pm

Enjoy your run Smile
