I am damn annoyed at being bombarded by adverts for borrowing money etc.I am particularly fed up with the one that Carol Vorderman endorses...."it can feel like life is passing you by.....borrow money"...then like me you can be a smug money grabbing, patronising, prob not particularly bright person.GrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrAngry

yep i agree.
and all the insurance ones and the 'if there's blame there';s a claim' nonsense.makes me very Angry

Dizzymama · 08/04/2006 21:05

I feel the same way about 'ambulance chaser' type adverts, you know the type...'fell over at work? Sue the pants off them' Angry

spidermama · 08/04/2006 21:07

I agree. I think these ads are very irresponsible. I also think Vorderman's a greedy tart who'll take any work going no matter what she's endorsing even when she clearly has no need for the money. Obviously that's my personal opinion and there's no suggestion whatsoever that it's endorsed by mumsnet. Grin

Yes those too...I first felt mean thinking this but I feel it is so damn cynical.I mean i dont suppose she needs the cash that bad!

Well, obviously I wouldn't dream of calling someone as lovely as CV a boringly self-obsessed c-lister with very questionable dress sense who feels that advertising debt is a mrally acceptable way of earning yet more money. Wink

JoolsToo · 08/04/2006 21:12

I hate the T-Mobile ad

just a bl-aAa-yde of grass (with the cracked voice)

moondog · 08/04/2006 21:14

Don't watch them then.
Smile
I don't think I have seen an ad in about 4 years.

hunkermunker · 08/04/2006 21:14

Isn't Martin Lewis going to be doing a campaign to get CV off those adverts? Am sure I read in one of his moneysaving expert emails that this is the case?

hunkermunker · 08/04/2006 21:16

Yes.

This from an email a little while ago:

"While talking TV, I'm counting down the days before launching a campaign to ask a well-known mathematical presenter to stop doing secured debt ads. This email's my prime weapon. Please tell friends and family about it, then it can have a bigger impact. Suggest they join \link{http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/tips\the free distribution list}."

Flossam · 08/04/2006 21:17
