I have just opened my front door to accept a delivery to see the new conifers I planted earlier this week have all been pulled up (in braod daylight out of my front garden. Going upstairs and looking out my dd's window into next doors garden they have 6 new conifers ... I have phoned the police and they are on their way over.

I just can't believe the total lack of respect, and am now very worried about living next door to them. I wish the police would get here, I am still shaking.

A Smile to encourage you

CHICagoMUM · 08/04/2006 14:36

CHICagoMUM · 08/04/2006 15:01

I'm now watching the delivery of stones like a hawk until dhh gets home and can move them into the back.

gobsmacked! Shock surely they wouldn't be so dense as to plant them right next door to the crime scene??????

un-bloody-believable! so Angry for you!

CHICagoMUM · 08/04/2006 15:09

How long do you think the police will take to get here? I really want this over and done with, am getting rather nervous.

OP posts:
JoolsToo · 08/04/2006 15:11

tbh - annoying though it is I don't think it will be priority because the evidence isn't going anywhere is it?

Nag them if they don't turn up soon - ask them for an eta!

SomethingAboutMary · 08/04/2006 15:11

What a bunch of thiefs, how rude & disrespectful, did you say they have planted them in there garden? or have they just dug them up from yours & taken them?

CHICagoMUM · 08/04/2006 15:12

That is why I don't want to phone them because I now they have more pressing issues, but I just want to get it over with.

have you got a digital camera? with a date? take some photos for now

CHICagoMUM · 08/04/2006 15:14

I can't be 110% certain, but they were there in our garden at 11.30 when dh went out, have spoken to my neighbour who witness me planting them, and he went out at 1pm and was rather surprised that they had gone. I opened dd's curtains this morning when I got her dressed and I am 99% certain they had no conifers in their garden. Immediately after I noticed ours where mixing I looked out of her window and they have 6 new conifers in 2 troughs identical to ours. (we had 8 so I don't know what happened to the other 2 if it is them that took them).

I'll beat your heart is beating fast?

Surely somebody must have seen someone uprooting 8 trees in broad daylight and if it wasn't them someone must had had a van or something.

How big are they?

CHICagoMUM · 08/04/2006 15:19

No they are only about a foot tall, very young trees. We have been in the house all day, so they did it under our noses. They didn't need a van as they are small and (if I am right) are currently about 15 feet from where I am sitting.

OP posts:
JoolsToo · 08/04/2006 15:23

Well, presumably the police (when they turn up) will ask them when they bought them, where from, receipts etc.

CHICagoMUM · 08/04/2006 15:26

I have taken photos of the holes in our front garden and the plants in theirs (just in case they spot the police car outside our house and decide to move/ditch them.

BettySpaghetti · 08/04/2006 16:15

Thats Shock

However something similar happened in the street we used to live in. Some neighbours employed a dubious bunch of "gardeners" to do some work for them including fitting a gate.

The "gardeners" just wandered up the road measuring gates until they found one to fit, removed it, carried it down the road and fitted it to the house they were working on!

MeggLeVache · 08/04/2006 16:24
