What to do about this sodding pushchair?

Last week DH & I bought a Chicco ct05 stroller, we basically wanted something lightweight which folded down quite small. I thought we had got a bargain when we paid £60 for it in a sale as it was reduced from £90. It also came with a rain cover and leg cover.

However a week on and I'm really quite disappointed with it. Firstly, to get the leg cover on is a real hassle. The material around the tubes is far too tight to get the straps round to fasten it . If we are to fasten it on where it's actually supposed to go, DS2 would not be able to see anything. It also gapes at the sides letting every bit of wind through. Secondly, the rain cover is so tight I actually pulled the plastic cover away from the fabric seams trying to fasten it to the stroller. It also doesn't fold down with the rain cover still on, so in other words, I'd have to stand in the rain folding the damn thing up to put in the boot of the car before I even start on the stroller itself.

What would you do about this, if anything? Would you take it back to the shop where you bought it or would you e-mail the company? Because I've used it a few times I'm not sure where I stand.

TIA

Ok.... sale of goods act 1979

good have to be fit for purpose, as described and of reasonable qulaity....

given that the rain cover tore when you attempted to use it it ws not of reasonable quality... therefor you are entitled to reject it and get a full refund.... as long as you do so within reasonable time

IE take it back asap, (ie tomorrow if possible to where you purchased it) and explain that you are not happy.... (its the retailer that is responsible not the manufacturer)

it the package sold to you includes the rain cover.... this is neither of resonable quality (as it tore) and is now not fit for purpose (as it will presumabley let rain in the whole.... or at least you should argue that it could!)

good luck..... where did you get it from btw..... had HUGE probelems taking a 15 month old MaClaren that was out of 'garenteee' to mothercare, without a reciept (but prrof of purchase sticker on the buggy)..... but i persisted for AGES and then got whole orginal purchase price back... Grin

be persistant and stand you ground!

Thanks for that NannyL

We bought it from a local Co-op. TBH the lady who sold it to us was so far up her own arse I was quite scared of her Grin but will try and see how it goes.

Thanks again Smile
