Ha!
Nice one Twiglett! That always p*sses me off, I wish more people were like you.

elena2 · 07/01/2004 17:09

I would park in a disabled space if I had my Gran with me and she struggled to walk far.

Well Done Twiglett

Surely he would have said that though dinosaur if that were the case...not that he's picking his toddler up later?

Well done.I was in UK over new year and went to tescos with my dad, saw exactly the same thing happen , I immediately thought of comments on mumsnet but I'm ashamed to say that I didn't say anything. You were great and I now am cross with myself for not saying anything.

pie · 07/01/2004 17:11

Can't say I've ever seen it actually.

ThomCat · 07/01/2004 17:11

You go girlfriend!!!!!
Well done.
I always have a go at people that do that too.

Crunchie · 07/01/2004 17:11

Well if you have a toddler you should know the importance of these spaces and NOT park in them otherwise!!!! I think I would have said! (maybe not if he was bigger than me )

DH and I often give the "do you realise you're parking in a P&T space' line. I'd say 50 % of the time they move and we get the space.

Unfortunately in our last 'battle' it wasn't until we and the other driver were out of our cars that we realised one of them was disabled and it was a P&T /disabled space that we fought over.........ooooppps.

BTW they did get an equally good space.

fairydust · 07/01/2004 17:55

you go girl

i went to tesco's over xmas and not one of the cars had a P&T badge that u need to park there.

So being the bitch i am i went into tesco and reported the lot of them -

They were then called over the mic to remove them.

God i felt good - and yes some of them did have kids but if they can't be bothered to to fill the form out to geta badge then it's there fault.

right off my soap box now.

Blu · 07/01/2004 18:02

Dino: no, they don't have spaces for old people because (in supermarket Tesco-owning-gerrymandering-Shirley-Porter style think) old people don't spend enough, don't buy for a huge growing family and aren't worth cultivating as regular loyalty customers 'cos their shelf life is too short. Sick but True.

futurity · 07/01/2004 18:11

Erm..Fairydust..I have filled in the form and got the badge for the car but it has gone missing (in amongst all DS's toys in the car!). Wouldn't have been very impressed if you reported me!! (I would hope that the child seat was clue enough in my case!)

CP · 07/01/2004 18:15

Well done twiglett! I am going to do that next time I see it happen.

Blu · 07/01/2004 18:16

Sorry Futurity, the supermarket would have publicly humiliated you anyway if they couldn't see the badge 'cos the form for the badge has all those vital q's that tell them about your spending habits and how they can get you to spend more...
Do I sound cynical?
(This really isn't a dig at you, Twiglett, solely at supermarkets)

fisil · 07/01/2004 18:41

Oh Blu, you've made me sad. I thought they did it because they loved me and wanted the best for me.

I did it yesterday too - guy on his own, 50s, driving the wrong way round the car park too. So I waited until he reversed up so that I could pull into a place, then he pulled into the next one.

I opened his door (I really can't believe that bit) and calmly explained that these were for people with children and why it was important and that he'd gone the wrong way anyway. And I finished by saying "so I'd like you to repark now please"

What a teacher!!!

He did, though!

Angeliz · 07/01/2004 18:51

good on you twiglett. I did it once to this old guy and felt much better. (but a teeny bit guilty later on that i'd shouted at an old man!)
It is infuriating, yesterday i was sat waiting for a space with dd as someone was pulling out. Opposite was a woman alone in her car waiting in a P+T space. I thought surely she MUST be waiting for a child and parent from in the shop. Juast as i parked a young man came out and off they drove, no child in sight!
ARGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
