Ebay Gurus - What is this??

I am currently involved in a dispute with a buyer - and a separate one w/PayPal.

Buyer has not responded in about 24 hours.

Now the dispute is reading that it is 'FVF Credit' eligible. What does this mean?

Buyer originally paid for item, but then claimed it was not the material described in the listing, which I still maintain it is. So I did not offer a refund b/c am not obliged to.

So buyer yanked payment thru PayPal and item came up on Ebay as unpaid. It was then that I opened an unpaid item dispute.

Buyer wanted me to fully refund her, including postage fees, and then said she would post item back to me.

This I felt was unacceptable b/c when you return an item to a shop, they don't have you the money back and then wait for you to return the item later.

She broke the rules by not paying, not me.

'final valuation fee'
meaning ebay will refund the fees you paid them bsed on your ad. and the final value paid for item

babyonboard · 06/04/2006 16:28

think in such cases you lose postage that you paid..ebay sucks!

expatinscotland · 06/04/2006 16:31

that royally sucks b/c i ended up paying a pound more in postage than i charged.

but at this point, small price to pay for closing this dispute, b/c this has soured me on ebay forever and i really want to delete my ID and move on.

how do i activate this? b/c i also want to delete my PayPal account if/when i get the money back that was taken from me.

ebay does suck. am hoping for better luck in car boot sales.

its not really ebay that sucks though is it, its the crappy buyer. and paypal.

babyonboard · 06/04/2006 16:37

yes..of course..but ebay sucks when you are messed around by buyers and want to get refunds..it is a lot of hassle!

SomethingAboutMary · 06/04/2006 16:37

Paypal & ebay are the same people

JoolsToo · 06/04/2006 16:47

isn't FVF the % ebay take off your sale? (their fee)

expatinscotland · 06/04/2006 17:52

i'm not agreeing to anything just now. she still hasn't responded. whatever. i complained to the FSA about paypal, and to paypal. and to square trade.

you do NOT have to offer buyers a refund. end of.

you are, however, as a buyer, obligated to pay for hte item.

i wasn't the one who broke the rules.
