help!! sick on rug - how to clean?

My dd3 has just thrown up tidal waves of sick all over our thick pile rug. I've wiped it off & cleaned with soap & water but think I've made it worse.

I've got some soda bicarb - seem to remember this is helpful?

Any help gratefully received! thanks xxx

Yes sprinkle bicarb liberally over area. Leave for awhile then hoover.
