will have to come back to our house tonight, the 2nd time in just over a week!
DD has just lost her 2nd tooth, its one of the front ones at the top. It looks so funny with this gap there, plus the one next to it is lose too.

Ds1's just lost his first tooth tonight. Is the going rate about a pound, or can I get away with giving him 50p?

kid · 04/04/2006 19:28

1st tooth gets £2, each tooth after that is worth £1.

How old is he? You might get away with 50p!
DD is 7 and she was told you get paper money, not in this house you don't!

Ds (6)has his first wobbly tooth (in fact 4, but one is more wobbly) and I have told him it's £1 for the first tooth, then 50p after that. He is desperate for all 4 to come out on the same day because he rockons he would get £4 because they're all first Grin

thats really smart of him, how are you going to get out of that one then?

I think there is no chance of them all coming out on the same day Grin I told him this, and I think he is planning to hide each one as they come out, until he has all 4 ready for collection. I told him the tooth fairy would see through this deception Grin

smart boy!

If one comes out in the morning, if would have all day to work on the rest. DD has 1 more loose tooth, but its not ready to come out yet. DS is desperate for his teeth to start falling out but he is only 4 (yesterday) and his teeth are not even a tiny bit wobbly.

one of the funniest stories I've read recently is Horrid Henry and the Tooth Fairy. Perfect Peter's tooth falls out before Henry's (even though Henry is the eldest child) and Henry tries all sorts of things to deceive the tooth fairy (like trying to colour a tooth black so it looks like there's a hole there). V funny and a good read at a time when teeth are beginning to get loose.

I meant stories I've read to the kids (not for me!)

Poor ds - at least he has wobbly teeth so he knows they are nearly there

Dd (5 and a half) was very pleased as two of hers fell out very close together (and she has 3 very wobbly ones) and she is one of the youngest in her class - a few of her friends who are several months older have no wobbly teeth and although she would never gloat outwardly, I know she was secretly quite pleased that for once, something happened to her before it happened to them!!

It's amazing to think that 4 yr olds can lose their teeth - I'm sure mine didn't fall out till I was at least 6.
