hubby and i and family are intending to move back to the UK over the next couple of years. All my family have moved away from my original home town of Swindon. I would LOVE to move to a place with a really neigbourly feel and where i could have chickens in the yard and plenty of rosebushes to attend do. Is there an town/village that you would recommend that still offers that welcoming air?

Where are you now?

we are in southern ireland, in waterford. moved here about 10 years ago. We have found it has become quite rough over the years (certainly we were are, which wasn't a rough area before) now the children will be leaving school over the next 5 years, we have a yen to return. I don't mind where! I have great memories of cornwall, and of the lake district. My family have moved to cheshire over the years. We will always have our eldest with us who is mildly autistic, so we would love to live somewhere where he could wonder to the shop and go off and explore without us feeling panic stricken! Is there a gem of a place out there!!??
A charming, friendly place - does it still exist?
