anyone feeling a little verbally creative?

I need a little poem to go inside my god daughter's birthday card. I've bought her a magazine subscription for her birthday and the first magazine won't arrive for a few weeks yet. So i've been trying to think of a short ditty (she's only 8) to explain that her present is coming soon but it won't only be one present, they'll be eleven more to follow over the year.
Anyone feeling creative to help me? TIA

Now you're eight
I know you'll understand that your present isn't late
It's just taking a different shape.
Every month in this here year
A part of the present will arrive, never fear
Sent with love from me to you
To help you pass the time, until you are nine.

Well, it's a start - I am sure someone with rather more verbal dexterity will be along shortly!
