I want to get rid of my car and am going to get a new one from Germany, so can't/don't want to do part exchange. I've got a 5 year old VW Sharan - been offered 6.5K part exchange, so am hoping for slightly more - cars seem to go for quite a lot on there.
I'm uncertain about the practicalities of it though (and am really dreading having to make it look 'like new' inside). Any experiences please?

My boss sold hers on ebay yesterday and today, chap got the train from Devon to pick it up - we are in Cumbria! Went really smoothly apparently. She put a reserve on for the absolute minimum she would accept which unfortunately is all she got, i guess its just the luck of the draw.

Yes I sold mine warts and all on Ebay, to a guy from Essex who came to collect it. (I am in Kent.. and I am so glad it got to Essex.. it had some serious issues which he knew about!) He left me positive feedback the same night!

It costs a minimum of £15 I believe to sell a car on Ebay. It was really quite straightforward. I didn't think I had much interest.. I just had a few watchers and no bids until the last couple of hours.. and then it was dead exciting watching the bidding.. and I got more than I had hoped for it!

My friend sold hers on ebay too! And it was broken down! The buyer came and towed it back to his, which was the other side of the country Grin and she got 3 times the amount she wanted for it Grin

My do sold his motorbike
I went on Buy It Now although he had also left the option for an auction.
The chap never emailed a question before buying it, it had full service history and dp used my username which had 1200 + feedback.
He came with cash and collected it, rung a week later to say thrilled with it!
Dp cleaned the bike within an inch of its life, painted all the little scratches and stuff.

thanks, sounds great! Hopefully I really will get rid of it then. Grin Grin
Will pull my finger out tomorrow and clear it out properly...I think.

We sold ours in 5 days through Autotrader. Cost £15 to be put on the website for 2 weeks.
