Bit gross sorry - how do you clean a carpet?

My DD threw up last night all over my bedroom carpet... have been scrubbing with washing yp liquid, carpet cleaner etc but the smell is lingering.... it's grim in there! Anyone got any tips for getting rid of the pong?

my mum taught me to use a bit of BICARB in water. neutralises the ponginess :)

sprinkle on bicarb of soda and hoover it up in the morning

I know it sounds simple - but this really works. Clean it with bicarb of soda mixed with water. Thats it! Works a treat

THIS IS AN OLD CHESTNUT. Sorry about caps. EIther use a solution of clear vinegar and water (1 tbsp to 1 pint of water) or make a paste with bicarbonate of soda and water. I use the former and it does not make the room smell of vinegar but does get rid of the unpleasant odour.
