Have you checked your payapal account to see if it's gone through?

matnanplus · 29/03/2006 13:11

I think it means the receiver has not accepted the payment yet.

starlover · 29/03/2006 13:11

it just takes a while to catch up sometimes that's all... when did you pay?

I think they do, yes - been ages since I sold anything on ebay, though, so I could be wrong.

I once paid for an item and it was payment pending for nearly a week. There was an error in the email address it was automatically sent to (two letters the wrong way round). I had to cancel it and do it myself, rather than going through the checkout bit.

mumfor1standfinaltime · 29/03/2006 13:14

Maybe the seller has changed email address or something like that?

mumfor1standfinaltime · 29/03/2006 13:15

Whoops x post.
Contact the seller if you are worried.

Have you funds in you paypal account?? I had this when paying by paypal and it had to draw on my bank a/c...Once the money had cleared into paypal, it then got forwarded onto the seller. HTH

spinach · 29/03/2006 13:17

it draws from a cc, says it is unclaimed... this mean that the seller hasnt seen it yet?

I once sold something, and the buyer paid via Paypal funded from a credit card. I couldn't accept payment, as I could only accept funds directly from Paypal account, or bank account. I had to upgrade it to accept the funds from a credit card(to Premier or something, can't remember exactly which one).

It could be something like that?!

spinach · 29/03/2006 13:21

i'll give it 24 hours then....

I've had this a couple of times - both when I've been the seller in question, and when I've been the buyer. When I was a buyer, it was becuase the email address they'd used to set up their paypal account wasn't the same as the one in ebay checkout. When it was me, it was because I was accepting a $ payment when my account was only set up for £. Email the seller and ask them to check - that way they won't get stroppy with you for not paying, when you have.

paypal have sent me a receipt though, saing I have made a payment, so not sure whats going on. I have emailed seller an dno reply yet.

turns out that the sellers acount is not set up to take paypal from a credit card... so i will pay in cash when i collect. However, I cant cancel the paypal payment, the seller has to... or she could update her paypal account to accept credit cards.... then she would get 2 lots of money is she was scamming me. is it easy for a seller to cancel a payment, apparently they just have to decline payment and it will go back onto my card....

It's really easy to decline the payment, it's two clicks. (I did it today, because someone refunded me via a CC payment, and I don't sell on ebay, so don't take CC via paypal.)

I wouldn't pay cash until the seller declines the paypal payment.
