How often to you email photos of your family to people you don't know that well?

Dd had a friend at school. They got on ok and we did tea a few times. He left last year to go to another school cos they moved. I thought that'd be it really, but his mum and possibly the boy too, seem to want to keep in touch and keeps asking for dd to visit, so I do a return visit. I don't know the mum well, only in a generally friendly way through the children. I have tried to keep the visits to holiday times though as it's a bit of a faff. The boy seems to think dd is his 'girlfriend'. Hmm.

Anyway, because of all this, we seem to be on their Email list. The list seems to be very big. They take quite a few pictures - family photos of the children - and keep sending them to everyone on the list, including us.

Every few weeks we get these photos through - rather posed ones. The sort you might give to a grandma or whatever. I suppose we do them too sometimes. But they are ours; I would not send them round on a huge mailing list. And certainly not regularly. I think it's weird. We don't even know them that well. Dh thinks it's hilarious. We even got pictures of them at some wedding once. I don't know what to say. I feel like I'm on some sort of fan mailing list. Odd, no?

Oh I'm on my mum's friend's mailing list - similar scenario. They have an 8-yr-old daughter who does ballet and horsey things and all sorts. V posey. They are most proud of her (fair enough) and mail lota of shots of her regularly (less fair enough imo)
plus lots of their dog

They're probably the sort of people who also send off long and unselfconscious round robins at Christmas too...

years ago a girl left my sisters class in year one... and moved a LONG way away..

bear in mind this would have been nearly 20 years ago.... and they wernt THAT friendly, spent only 4 terns together in the same class...

we STILL get our yearly Xmas card / pictures / family letter every Xmas and always have... as do a LOT of the other children who were in the class (my sister is still in touch with lots of them!)
