My boiler is making a knocking sound - this doesn't mean my flat will shortly explode does it?

It's a gas boiler and it has started making this regular tapping sound

probably air in your pump...

i shouldn't think your boiler will blow up but i do think you should get the pump sorted before it needs to be replaced...

btw - i am not a corgi registered plumbing engineer - this happened to us recently! Smile

thanks bk, will get someone out asap

in the meantime is it safe to leave it on? heating and hot water are still working at the moment

hmmm. as i say i'm not an expert! i think i would have it on as little as possible until you can get someone to have a look at it.
