Teddy Bear Emergency!

Can anyone help me get hold of a replacement teddy bear for my dd, please? It's made by Mothercare of pink towelling material with blue ears and paws. About 8" long, quite floppy, has a small tail. It was sold during 2002 but has been discontinued. My daughter is obsessed with hers, takes it everywhere, loves it more than her parents but it is about to disintegrate, so I urgently need another. I have contacted Mothercare to no avail, and have scoured the local charity shops in vain. If anyone has one that their child never plays with, please let me know - I'll pay any reasonable sum! I can also email a photo to help with ID if helpful. Many thanks in hope....

Can't help, but my commiserations. I hope you find one.

DS is becoming dangerously attached to a hand made toy, so I live in daily fear of your predicament!

oh - we have two of those blue ones...we had the same nightmare...cant help you with pink ones but have a blue one going spare if you want it!!!
they are called bluey and bluey two-y btw!!

popsycal · 31/12/2003 20:12

we were bought one then bought a replacement when they were in the slaes earlier in the year in case of a similar emergency to yours...
if you thikn a blue one might do then you are welcome to bluey two-y

Thanks Fisil and Popsycal.... Unfortunately it does need to be a pink one - dd isn't fooled by anything that I think looks similar. We have bought various teddies that (to a clearly untrained eye) look almost identical, but she has spurned them all. I'm hopeful that MN can help - it hasn't ever let me down yet!

Popsycal - thanks so much for all this chasing around for me - if your niece does have one, that would be fab! Thanks too for the tip about posting the message on a different board, which I'll try now....
