Happy New Year everyone. Let's have some peace around the world this year, shall we?
(And a big hello to small Jennifer Jane Brown, whose mum and dad did not expect to become parents in 2001).

Joe1 · 02/01/2002 05:38

Happy New Year all. My resolution is to try and get everybody their birthday cards on their birthday.

Mooma · 02/01/2002 09:03

Marina, my favourite TV moment over the holiday was the delight on Gordon Brown's face when he was talking to the cameras about his daughter!

Rhiannon · 02/01/2002 09:59

Happy New Year everyone, my resolution is to be tidier and to have a big clear out for the charity shop. Yesterday DH and I started to go through all the paperwork so we've made a mini dent in it. R.

mhvp · 02/01/2002 15:58

This is my first message and I promise to use the net a lot!

CAM · 02/01/2002 16:42

Happy New Year to all mumsnetters and my resolution is to be calm and serene as much as possible - wonder how long this will last!

jodee · 02/01/2002 17:20

Yes, Happy New Year to one and all - I am very glad the festivities are over and things can get back to normal - ie Mumsnet addiction!
Ditto, Rhiannon!

SueDonim · 02/01/2002 20:22

Happy New Year, everyone. No resolutions here, although I shall attempt to be less slobbish in the house and to go to bed a teensy bit earlier.

Rosy · 03/01/2002 13:42

I resolve to get a computer at home and therefore avoid being sacked for overuse of Mumsnet! PS. Welcome mhvp!

Hilary · 03/01/2002 20:26

I am going to get decluttered in my house. I have discovered www.flylady.net and with her help, I have given 7 bags to the charity shops in recent weeks and about the same again of rubbish to the dump. I am also going to do more and more home cooking rather than hurriedly rushing out for something quick at 5pm. I do quite a bit anyway but hate relying too much on ready meals and the like. Oh, and lose some weight, now that my youngest son is one, I can't hide behind the 'just had a baby' excuse anymore. I haven't got much to lose but enough for it to be a resolution this year!

winnie · 04/01/2002 15:28

Happy New Year everyone!

sis · 04/01/2002 16:45

A happy new year to everyone from me too!

BTW Hilary, I registered with flylady out of curiosity (and wild optimism!) and stumbled at the first hurdle - put on shoes at home so that I would be able to answer the door if anyone called?!! um I don't mind doing that in my slippers - am I odd and does everyone else put on proper shoes before they answer the door?? Well I'll persevere for a bit but no shoes indoors!

Hilary · 04/01/2002 20:53

No, I don't do the shoes thing either! My sister doesn't do the sink thing or the shoes thing but we are both getting a lot out of it anyway. I take what I can use and ignore the rest.

LisaV · 05/01/2002 15:10
