It must be a really sad time for you jarm, but what a lovely idea to send someone who won't get one a card, if you become unidated with requests give me a shout and I shall be happy to help.

Spursmum I think everyone who has kids is as deserving as the next person, drop jarm an e-mail.

mumatuks · 23/03/2006 09:44

JARM, just wanted to say I haven't got a mum to send one to. My mum died at Christmas 2000 of secondary breast cancer. Although I have a wonderful stepmum, it does still feel weird going into card shops at this time of year, knowing that I haven't got a Mum to send one to.
I remember reading that you lost your mum recently, I'm sorry for your loss, I can empathise.
I'll send you a card if you like. Smile

Thanks Flutterbee.

I should add that they are handmade cards too just for that extra personal touch x

Awww JARM... I'd love to do this too, only I only embroider cards and blimey that would take a loooong time!

I could buy people a card! (MN single mums could have squillions of cards!)

I do quite well on the cards and gift front, but I dont have a mum to send a card to. My mum died many years ago, and so did DHs. Mothers day is always a special time for us because we hadnt been able to celebrate it until DS came along. Smile

Maybe we should have a 'motherless mothers' thread on mothers day to remember those we have lost.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 23/03/2006 10:06

that would be nice....

my offer is still open though, If you wnat something just for you, let me know. I have 11 cards sitting waiting for anyone who wants one x

mumatuks · 23/03/2006 10:17

just a thought JARM, why don't we swap a card. I've never hand made a card before so I'm going to go and buy some stuff to make one!! I'd like to try, maybe I might have inherited my mums arty crafty side. Grin

Cori, I like your idea. Please start the thread off on Sunday.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 23/03/2006 10:18

mumatuks - no worries! Mail me your address and ill send you one!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 23/03/2006 10:50

cori - I think a motherless mothers thread is a lovely idea, it's so hard to know where to go to remember them in the style they deserve

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 23/03/2006 17:07

Last chance saloon now girls......

ANYONE who wants a handmade card arrive on their door step for mothers day with a lovely little message from their little darlings, let me know.... I am doing this out of the kindness of my heart, and as a little way of making someone smile on sunday.

JARM, I think you're such a lovely person for doing this, I really do. Like you I've got no mum for mother's day but, thankfully, my dd now makes an effort (she's 6). She phoned her dad the other night and had to go upstairs when talking to him because "it was private about mother's day". Bless her heart. Yours, too.

Just seeing this thread has cheered me up.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 23/03/2006 18:15

Thanks Amanda.

I just want to give something to those who wont get anything or not have a partner that will even think about it.

I jsut want to feel like im doing it, even if it isnt for my mum, i want a mum to feel special x

OP posts:
Amanda1 · 23/03/2006 18:31

Stop it, you're making me cry now. I hope your dh does make the day special for you. I know how hard it is without having a mum to dote on on Mother's Day so I'll be thinking about you and your mum.

It's not often I get touched by human kindness but this gesture of yours is truly selfless.

Radley · 23/03/2006 18:32

JARM I know how you feel, even now 25 years after she died I still feel that 'tug' when I see the lovely cards, as I have no-one to buy one for.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 23/03/2006 18:35

dont be silly amanda.... it will be fine. ill be ok.... DH has said i can stay in bed all day if thats what i want!!!!

So come on then.... who wants a card???
