need o find something on pc..how?

Doing a search for something that may have been 'hidden' on pc. Cant find it anyone know how to?

if it's windows can you:

Click Start button:
the click on Search (ours has a magnifying glass next to it)

type in what you want to find. It might even let you choose what type of file, say a jpeg /jpg for a picture. etc or .txt

HTH, I only use the computer for mumsnet and interent shopping.

tried that. the thinng Iam looking for isnt turning up!
In a way thats good news, but there should be something similar!!

sorry if this is obvious and you already tried, putting in a shorter part of the word so instead of mumsnet just put mum and if you are using XP you can keep going into the different advanced options and then tick hidden files and folders..

you can expand the search perameters to include hidden files and system files by selecting more advanced options

done hidden files! really stumped and its VERY important I find something! I believe you can buy some softwear that finds everything!

perhaps you could elaborate what kind of file are you looking for... document, image, syatem or programme file
