The Office - did anyone else cry...

...when Dawn walked back into the party? I gave a big cheer, too!
Beginning to sound like my MIL (stayed with us over xmas)when she talks about Emmerdale as if it's real. Dh and I watched the first part of The Office with MIL who declared that she never watches it because it's rubbish. We concluded this was because she actually rivals Gareth in the tact and diplomacy department, so obviously wouldn't really find it funny. We were enduring our own home-version of Wernham Hogg over Xmas - made for a fun time, as you can imagine!

I don't know how good it was, I need to see it again..... SOON! I worked for exactly David Brent many years ago and several watered down versions, its just what office life is like in those sort of companies. In my day though we also drank like fish at lunchtime and straight after work!

Lisa78 · 28/12/2003 20:04

We're talking The office over in the Phat bar

MissHooley · 28/12/2003 20:04

why dont i get this programme at all??

Hulababy · 28/12/2003 20:04

Don't normally watch it but DH loves it. Thought the last one was really good though and so pleased to get a happy ending.

Eowyn · 28/12/2003 21:00

I cried buckets, so embarrased. But it's been a long wait for Tim & Dawn to get together, most important stuff.

Clarinet60 · 28/12/2003 23:10

I cried too, it was very moving.
The rest was funny and wrapping-up and it's sad that it's to be no more.

WickedXmasWitch · 29/12/2003 01:32

I'm even more pathetic - I cried when Dawn opened her present from Tim. Nice to see David Brent getting a happy ending too.

handlemecarefully · 29/12/2003 09:20

No, but I was close to it.....awwww, so nice to see them together

SenoraPostrophe · 29/12/2003 09:24

Yes - I cried at the bit where she opened the present, too. But I blame the hormones!

I had gone off the office, but just watched this last episode because there was nothing else on. Glad I did.

wobblyknicks · 29/12/2003 09:24

It was so sweet. I started to cry when Tim and Dawn kissed, it was so sweet and even more so with Tim looking so suprised and Gareth still being a prat.

wobblyknicks · 29/12/2003 09:25

Had to record it for a friend and am utterly pathetic - watched that bit again!

WSM · 29/12/2003 10:50

I cried at the 'Never give up' bit. Lame, I know. Was also pleased (if a little amazed) that David Brent found himself a lovely woman. I do love a happy ending

pie · 29/12/2003 10:54

Anyone else see that The Sun have started a campaign to get 'If you don't know me by now' released as a single??

JanH · 29/12/2003 11:35

I am even more pathetic than those who cried when Dawn opened the present - I cried when trying to tell the dds about it next day - couldn't even get out the words "never give up"!

saddo...saddo...

There was a moment, after DB had had yet another knock back and was driving silently, when I was afraid it had really got to him and he might suddenly decide to top himself, so I was thrilled when the lovely Carol turned up. (And ds2 - who should not have been watching, fortunately the rudey bits were over his head - thought "I'm waiting for a blind date and I was afraid you were it" was the funniest thing he'd heard all day!)

Marshy · 29/12/2003 18:54

Glad to see it's not just me then who weeps at the least opportunity. Dh looked at me as if I was mad!
I wonder if they might do a '10 years on' episode.
