I'm pretty new to this and chose my user name before I realised everyone had such interesting names on here. I was just wondering if people would like to share the story behind their name......

When I found out I was pregnant (at 20 weeks!) my work colleague said he'd hook me up with his pregnant wife for advice but it 'mostly involves registering on Internet forums'

As I'm called kate, nickname Kato, had something cooking inside that we called 'Kato Potato'

Mine is after my first yacht, already called Cinnabar when I bought her. Which makes me sound much more glamourous than I am.

I took an MN break and came back with the wonderful fanny after a riverboat in a Pratchett novel. Then joined a thread about female equivalents to chaps.

Justspiro - I'm reminded of 'justcallmedog' who got very annoyed when people still couldn't get it right..

And I can't spell...

Character in a set of books that I love.

Because it looks like an owl.

My Italian MIL (suocera) came to live with us cos her carer ran away and the old people's home had kicked her out for being disorderly.

I got the Blues.

But it is getting better. Or I'm just getting used to it.

She hasn't called me slutwhoreprostituteslappertheif for oh...about four days. This is MAJOR progress.

But I am not going to tempt fate by changing my username.

This is my username for when I'm in trouble.

It was born out of a statement I made on a thread that culminated in my stating

That Maryz up there pointed out the name potential.

I have recently broken Mnet on more than one occasion so currently have ditched the Lederhosen for an invisibility cloak.

There are a couple of reasons, but the sane one is a play on words of a beatles song.

Tapir, yours is one of my favourite names makes me every time I cross your path.

I was 3madboys, then i had ds4 and became 4madboys and then i had dd. I stayed 4madboys for a year or so after she was born but a number of posters said i should change my name to include dd and everyone assumed i only had boys etc.

I couldnt be arsed thinking up anything new so 5madthings was easy. I am slightly mad and have five mad (but adorable) children.

It's the name of a song from a musical that dd's was in & her character sung.

Because I am fast.. sometimes.. in my head..

I use the initials BP in most of my name changes, for the past three years anyway, unless I am trying to actually hide* Britta Perry is on the quite amazing Community

*except for when I had the name of my blog, just for using on bloggers, but it snuck onto the main boards. Oh, and my other blog too...

I'm basically a namechange slut. But rubbish at hiding it.

Well.. it all started with Sarah being a brat, then I turned up and showed her my tights, juggled my balls and turned into an owl. Then the silly bitch broke my Escher exhibit and said I had no power over her. Honestly... Some people are so precious!

Because I am a gloomy cow. And I love the Waterhouse portrait of Ophelia. So... Ophelia plus weeping plus willow growing aslant a brook.

My old nickname from school days. Was very apt for what I used to do for a living, and is a character from pigeon street.
