We are moving to Adelaide in January 2007 for 12 months with DH work and taking DS1 who will be 4 yrs 3 m and DS2 who will be 20 months
DH will be working at Flinders Medical Centre in Bedford Park just South of the city. I could really do with some advice on the best place to rent a house. We will have one car so maybe somewhere on a tram line or not too far away from hospital, but we do want really nice area good for kids with restaurants etc.
Also any advice on school/nursery would be fab too

Just seen your post.

We are moving to Adelaide permanently as soon as we can sell the house here. We have relatives there looking into stuff for us, but meantime I found this sight answered some questions

Hi Flump,
I live in Brisbane and don't really know anything about Adelaide but I'm sure you'll love it there.
Aussies are very welcoming and open and you'll probably be invitedto a BBQ within he first few days.
You'll have a great time with the kids - lots to do, especially outdoor activities, camping and the like.
Make sure you do loads on DH's weekends off.
I came here in similar circumstances in 1998 and am still here ( with a 2 1/2 year break back in the UK).
It will be hard at first with all the practicalities of setting yourselves up but when you are settled you'll love it.
Playgroups are a good way to meet other mums here.
Good luck Smile

Hi there, I was born in Adelaide, so have been back a few times to visit family etc. It is a lovely city, really good for kids. Lots of great countryside outside of Adelaide too, for day trips, and holidays, that sort of thing. Don't know much about areas, but try \link{http://www.adelaide.sa.gov.au\Adelaide City Council} for some info.
