Me too. My printer broke the other day. I desperately need a new one. Use it for my scrapbooking - not photos but text. As well as other test and the odd image (not photos).

Will follow this thread carefully :)

I've got an Epson Photo rx420. Wasn't more than £90. Its an all in one so it scans too. I can use cheap cartridges which work great

notasheep · 19/03/2006 21:24

im with Yorkiegirl-fab printer

Hulababy · 19/03/2006 21:33

£90 is a bit more than I want to pay TBH. I have had cheap and expensive printers in past and none have lasted that long!

katzg · 19/03/2006 21:36

the cheaper the better

how much were you thinking of katzg? just thaat when i got my pc in oct it came with an all in one lexmark printer copier scanner AND i was given similar as a present. lexmark still unopened in box - was thinking of ebay-ing it but not got around to setting up a sellers account.

not really got much idea of value or postage but if you want to make me a reasonable offer would be more than haappy to send it your way. :)

kipper22 · 20/03/2006 12:58

um, but i'm not sure how! fairly new to this chat business - i'm happy to give you my email address here but am i allowed?

zippitippitoes · 20/03/2006 12:59

if you don't need the scanner then the epson R200 is around 60.00 and works fine..use the jettec epson subsitiute ink and it's good value, and if you do need photo priniting it is good for that too..

Did you sort yourself out with a printer? I've been looking for one for a while as our Canon smartbase needs a new printhead and it's not worth replacing it. My Mum got a lexmark but you can't use it as a copier without going through the pc which is annoying.

Today I ordered this-

\link{http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/576_284254.html\Brother DCP120CU1} £49.99 reduced from £99.99 scanner, copier, printer (black/colour). The spec looks good and it's fast compared to others I've looked at.

We love our Canon Pixma 3000. Cost £79 I believe. Does what you want and can even do photos.

lacrimosa · 22/03/2006 13:01

I have an Epson Stylus C86 has separate cartridges and has photo quality printing(if you desire)and it cost £89.00 all cartridges cost about £4.00 each but you can buy a big black cartrige which is £6.00 and lasts about twice the time of the others x

kipper22 · 24/03/2006 14:58

just re-read my message(s!) sorry to be so harsh - I really shouldn't MN early in the morning!

Yes it does have separate cartridges - already got one of each in the box. I've had a look on ebay and they seem to be about £40 but I'd be happy with £30 plus postage which looks to be about £13

kipper22 · 24/03/2006 15:25

sorry, going away for weekend now so i'm going to seem rude! if you'd like the printer email me details at [email protected]
:)

katzg · 24/03/2006 17:29
