My darling dearest son has crayoned on my beautiful expensive armchair. The fabric is scotchguarded. Does anyone know, please, how I should clean it?

1001 liquid is pretty good for upholstery and carpets.

There was a thread started about removing crayon from a wool carpet....

The general idea was a piece of cloth or old dishtowel. Put it over the mark and iron with a cool iron. The theory is the wax will melt onto the dish towel.
HTH

Little darlings aren't they??

I'm quoting Demented, quoting Kim & Aggie....

"To get crayon off carpet, scrape off as much as possible with a knife, then put several layers of paper towel over the mark and press lightly with a warm iron. The towel soaks up the waxy residue."

I know it talks about carpet, but I'm sure it'll work on your lovely chair too. Good luck!

I found the guarantee thingy and it seems I am insured against this kind of thing. It had a cleaning advice helpline and everything. I just called them and I have been told to leave it alone and wait for the cleaning fluid they are sending. If that doesn't work I can claim on my insurance and get it cleaned professionally.

Now my dd has just come in the room and told she has found more crayon marks on the chest of drawers. DS is screaming in the corner where he is banished.

Aaaaarghhh! Cyber screams!!! Crayons are now confiscated and I have told DS I will be phoning Father Christmas in a minute.

Sorry I panicked and thank you for all your suggestions.

does anyone know if the iron trick will work on washable crayons too? DD got hold of one and ate it unsurprisingly but left little hand prints over the carpet that don't seem to be coming out with 1001 - so much for washable
