It's DPs birthday in a couple of weeks and I'm stumped for present ideas. I'm taking him out for the day somewhere which is his main pressie but I'd like to get him some things to unwrap. Any ideas for pressies under £20?

He likes food and cooking and current affairs. He likes comedy, geeky gadget stuff. He likes to look decent.

If he likes Whiskey, buy him some Whiskey Stones.

Box set of dvds or a stand up comedian dvd.

What do you want to spend? DP is hard to buy for, so every year he gets pants and socks selections, a shirt, trousers or a jumper, maybe shoes that he has chosen. My family own a jewellery shop so DP has also had beautiful cufflinks, which he loves and wears.

Can't think of anything else under £20 other than chocs, Kenwood mini chopper, cook-book, Pyrex bowls in different sizes.

I'd buy something for a quid if it was imaginative and he'd like it! I suppose £50 all in if I want a few/handful of things.

A rubix cube.
A mr men mug appropriate to him.
A scratch off where you have been Map of the World.

floweryblue · 16/09/2012 01:17

So week-a-day socks, prob £10 from M&S
Kenwood mini chopper or other kitchen gadget about £15
Your fave flavour novelty condom, no idea, would never buy myself, but let's say £5-
Mr Men t-shirt, think you can get from Next, guess at £15
Thorntons chocs, £whatever is left

FatFaced · 16/09/2012 01:22

Novelty condom! Grin Ha.

Maybe another subject for another thread but DP is very fussy about condoms...

I like the Rubiks cube idea (or other puzzle. He loves soduku so that'd work) and the Kenwood thing. Thanks!

DP is sensible enough to make sure he can get refunds on any presents he gets me!

Does your DP shave, if so, Ambrosia from Lush is good.

Also, Dead Sea Bath stuff from Boots is really nice.

FatFaced · 16/09/2012 01:33

Thanks flowery, the Lush stuff sounds nice Smile

How about a Yotam Ottolenghi recipe book?

Your DH can indulge the cooking whim, you can eat the absolutely DIVINE food and while DH is out you can drool over hottie Yotti.
Seriously though his book "The cookbook" is full of really gorgeous recipies.

FatFaced · 16/09/2012 15:13

Just been shopping and your suggestions were v helpful - thank you!

That cookery book looks great. Might get that too or maybe for him for Xmas. Smile
