I hate talking on the phone and don't understand people who can stay there for hours having mindless chit chat. Yes i am one of those people who never call..well i do but only out of politeness.
I do hate it when people call me for nothing and i have to sit there listening to them drone on and on..half the time i don't even know what they're on about.

I hate ringing anyone, don't mind so much if they ring me. Not that is happens very often. The only person who used to talk for a long time was my mum (now dead) -sometimes I did end up audibly yawning (not deliberately Blush).

Nope. I hate the telephone. Everyone I know thinks I'm weird. I struggle to sustain the conversation if I can't see the person I'm talking to. Much rather text and meet up.

No no NO.

Do not phone me. I won't phone you. It's better that way.

I like a letter. Letters are much better.

Nope. I can't stand the telephone.

TBH most people I know just text or email. The only people who phone me are PPI sales calls or my mum.

"I hate talking on the phone and don't understand people who can stay there for hours having mindless chit chat."

There are a lot of telephone haters on MN. It reminds me of when I was a child in the 60s and old people were scared of the telephone apparatus. Nothing changes Grin

I hate not being able to contact people by phone and don't understand people who hate talking on the phone. We live hundreds of miles away from both families and if we didn't talk on the phone we would never talk. OH travels a lot and we would be lost without Skype. We are TPS registered so most phone calls are from friends and family anyway so I wouldn't just let the phone ring and ring. Aslo, when DD was undergoing extensive tests at the hospital they were ringing us on a regular basis. There was no way I wasn't going to answer the phone.

I can't be bothered with faffing around with text messaging when a simple telephone conversation can sort something out far more quickly. I guess part of it is that I have friends and family who are all happy to chat on the phone. think it is far more personal and friendly in a lot of cases.

I do text and email, but I also like to chat. I don't do Facebook either.

I was brought up to understand that the phone is a tool which you use to arrange to meet your friends to chat with them. This has stuck with me. I like to see people's faces when we are chatting. Obviously not realistic if they don't live near you, but in the main. Smile
