Forward facing car seat help

I've had to move my 6 month old out of his 0 stage car seat as he is too big and too heavy for it now. We bought a forward facing 1-2-3 car seat and put him in it, however when he is asleep his head flops forwards. Is there anything we can do to prevent/minimise this?
Thanks in advance

Is he over 9 kilos? I'd be worried if his head was flopping forward that he maybe wasn't big enough for it.

Sorry if you've already done this, but have you raised the straps higher up the back of the seat so there's more room for him? I think it's unusual for a 6mo to grow out of a baby carrier (though I'm not doubting what you say!)

Sorry, I meant raised the straps up the back of the infant carrier, not the new seat.

Yep he's over 9 kilos - he's a big boy! We'd moved the straps ages ago and his feet and head are both over the edges of his 0 seat. His head only flops when he is asleep and can't imagine this would be much different in a couple of months time. I just wondered if there was a way to support him more when asleep.

At 6 months he really needs to he rear facing, babies heads are generally out of proportion with the rest of their bodies and if you were in a hard collision his neck would most likely break due to the weight and force.

penalise try a group 0 and 1 car seat which can rear face up to 12kg then turn to forward face up to around 4 years.

Penalise??

Meant perhaps jo

Thanks for the advice. I wonder why they make these car seats!

Which car seats?

they are perfectly safe if used at the appropriate stage i.e atleast 9 months but generally under that babies lack the control. If I was a manufacturer I'd make it atleast 12 months.
