Did anyone watch the Caroline Quentin programme on ITV last night - stealing money.

Ds had couhging fit etc near to the end, I switched vid on, but surprise surprise it missed the end! Aaagh.

I got up to the bit when fraud squad lady came in, and boss man said that it would be impossible for someone to steal money, then he watched the video cameras intently ... cut!

OK. Fraud Squad knew it was Melanie Hill, because her pillock of a husband proudly announced to the gang that he had taken their advice about being sensible and put £100,000 in a bond at his bank. So the notes' numbers were traced. You saw scenes of them all panicking, flushing notes down the loo etc, as the police raided each house (plot gap - no clue as to how they worked out who the other conspirators were). Then you saw them placing pressure on the security guard, implying his mother would be made homeless while he was in prison, he'd get a shorter sentence if he confessed etc, so he did. But the police felt they hadn't got enough evidence to prosecute, so the Bank of England took them to court under civil law. They were found guilty, but no prison - just fines, which they would have to sell everything to meet. Final scene is the three gals with their friend at the allotment, meeting up in the pouring rain to mull over the whole experience. They decide the friendship made it all worthwhile and then start digging hidden ££££ out of the veggies. V. good!
