Something for outdoors. A kite or gardening stuff?

spacecadet · 13/03/2006 15:02

does he like creepy crawlies, my ds was 5 on friday and my aunt bought him an ant farm! absoloutely fascinating.

spacecadet · 13/03/2006 15:02

its quite safe btw, they cant escape!

zippitippitoes · 13/03/2006 15:08

skyrail rollercoaster

LIZS · 13/03/2006 15:11

K'nex, Playmobil, scooter (some have lights), soccer goal or basket ball hoop

Bink · 13/03/2006 15:19

How about take him out, just you and him? Legoland if you dare, kids' theatre, zoo, steam train event?

madmarchhare · 13/03/2006 15:20

Aw, thats a nice idea Bink.

Marina · 13/03/2006 15:20

As he comes as part of a small pack, I think Bink's idea is the tops. Almost anywhere minus his two brothers, I'd say!

Marina · 13/03/2006 15:21

Do Lunch. Ds, six, loves this.

JoolsToo · 13/03/2006 15:23

ooh - some great ideas there!!!

Taking him out is interesting - maybe when he's a bit older! Although tis a possibility

Quite like the kite idea - mmmmmmmm

DS1 is 5 in a couple of weeks, my mum has got him a cheap digital camera , which I know he will love.

JoolsToo · 13/03/2006 15:40

A hot wheels Crash Dummy - the car falls apart when you crash it & then you can put it back together to do all over again.

blueteddy · 13/03/2006 15:50

Has he got a pirate ship?
I bought my DS a Peter Pan pirate ship for his birthday & it has been a great success. He can even play with it in the bath!
Also construction toys like lego, magnetix etc, often goes down well with 5 year olds.

blueteddy · 13/03/2006 15:57

Or something to play with outside like a scooter?

Dottydot · 13/03/2006 15:59

another vote for a camera - ds1 loves it when I buy him a tescos disposable camera - so maybe one of those + something else - they're only £4 and you get some fantastically surreal photos of the corners of things - or things on the telly..!!

geogteach · 13/03/2006 21:23

Think the camera was £60, the rate he goes through disposable ones with the cost of developing photos its probably worth it. Maybe we won't have to print all the rubbish ones!

Cristina7 · 13/03/2006 21:26

Scooter (£20 in Argos), DVD of Dr Who or The Ashes or something else he's into now, cinema trip, cricket set (£15 in Argos or £5 in ELC).

madmarchhare · 14/03/2006 15:06

Jools, I ve recently bought kites for presents for two of my friends kids and both went down a treat.
