The week after next is 'Multi-Cultural Week' at ds's school. Great, sounds like they'll be doing lots of fun stuff, I thought. Then at the end of the letter I read 'Children are invited to come to school in their National Costume on Friday 24 March'. GULP!!!! Does England have a national costume?! Never mind the fact that 24 March is dd2's birthday and I'll have enough on my plate organising her party. Aaarrgghh. Any ideas wise women?! Thought of just shoving him in his England footie shirt!!

England footie shirt seems like a sensible idea, unless you happen to have a small beefeater's costume handy :)

I think it's quite sad actually that we don't have a national costume. Dm suggested going as John Bull but I think he'd end up looking like Tim Brooke-Taylor!! I know quite a funny joke about Morris dancers actually!!
